Hi, Dave, et al ~

You are all set with 20 Practice sites for LAMC to begin conduct local

training, plus a lead Trainer site.

Please read the following closely and see attached for users login into

practice sites.

20 PRACTICE SITES AND ONE LEAD TRAINER SITE:

This is set up just like we do our face-to-face and online training,

where participants are 'students' in the lead trainer site and have

instructor rights in their practice sites. The lead trainer can jump to any

practice site to help participants.

The trainer site is where the lead trainer (lamc_support account) can

demonstrate things to the participants during the workshops, and then,

direct faculty to go in their practice sites to apply/try them. I have

imported our lessons/tutorials under Modules in your lead trainer site.

Every once in a while we should have you delete them and get the most recent

version.

These sites are yours to keep for LAMC training. Be sure your faculty

understand that they are for training ONLY.

ACCESS TO YOUR TRAINING SITES:

Lead Trainer Account - with access to the practice sites and lead trainer

site

(You need to decide who is the lead here - or rotate using this

account)

Practice Accounts - See attached document with login information that you

can print/cut up for every training session for your participants. Please

ask faculty to NOT change the password to keep things simple from training

to training. If at some point in the future, the sites get full of junk

material from practice, we can delete them and install fresh sites. Just let

me know.

INCLUDING YOUR TRAINING ON OUR ON-SITE CALENDAR:

When you start scheduling group training for LAMC, let me know and we'll

include your sessions in our onsite schedule. I will need information on

location, dates/times, and lead trainer. This way, you can direct your

faculty there to register and keep track of enrollment. It also helps us

with training activity going on in the servers and around the state for

growth/support. Please break up your training into several days/sessions if

you want to have positive experiences. It's tons of information. See what

AFTER YOUR TRAINING IS OVER:

When faculty are finished with the training, you, David, can request

development sites for them, if you feel that they truly got it. If they are

not ready and become a support nightmare, we'll pass them back to you. :) We

*strongly* recommend that you direct faculty to our online training in

addition to your local training, as the online course allows faculty to

experience being online students in the system PRIOR to teaching with it,

and get a deeper and better perspective of the environment.
